Yep, you leave a Win2k server on the internet unpatched and you will get
hit. Code Red/Nimda et al are slowing down a bit but they still fill the
logs with their garbage.

Better to use a Win2K SP2 Slipstream install CD (win2k w/SP2 installed from
the getgo) and use HFNetChk (recommend you use 'hfnetchk -history
2 -z -nosum ') or HFNetChk Pro from www.shavlik.com to make sure you have all
applicable security hotfixes installed.

Install IE6 and all patches too. (hfnetchk[pro] will check for NT 4.0,
2000, IE 5 and 6, IIS, and SQL at least) IE5.01 is only supported on 2K and
that won 't last long I 'm sure.

If you do Windows do it right or you are going to get nailed.
